A few recent improvements and additions to PD able
Cohort handling
We’ve introduced cohort handling for PD systems that work around defined cohort cycles.
Our original annual cycle model has worked well for the majority of users, but we wanted to make PD able more flexible for organisations that manage people through different cohorts, intakes or cycle dates.
If your PD system doesn’t use cohorts, you won’t see any of the additional tools — so there’s nothing new to learn. But for PD System Owners who need it, cohort support is now good to go.
File uploads
You can now upload Word and Excel files under Resources.
This is particularly useful where employers provide staff with a centralised template to complete and then upload as evidence of their PD activity.
A good example is Peer Group support. A supervisor can meet with a staff member, record the outcome using a Word template, and the completed document can then be uploaded against the activity as evidence.
Recommended & In-house Activities
We’ve improved the way folders work on Recommended and In-house Activities.
Folders can now be expanded or collapsed, making it much easier to navigate larger activity lists and show or hide the content you need.
There’s still more we want to do here, but this is a useful step towards making larger activity libraries easier to manage.
Lecture Series
We’ve also made improvements to our specialised Lecture Series activity.
Lecture Series allows you to link a number of activities together as a single series, while still allowing attendees to claim CPD for individual lectures.
Previously, attendees had to attend the complete series before they could claim their CPD. Now, each individual event can be claimed separately, making the feature much more flexible for organisations running lecture programs.
