About Teaching - Australia - WA professional development

The Teaching Australia WA PL System has been specifically created to support registered teachers in Western Australia as they work towards maintaining their professional standing under the requirements set by the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).

Built around the responsibilities of Proficient-level registration, this platform offers a structured and flexible space for managing your professional development. From tracking your hours to planning long-term learning goals, the system helps ensure you're meeting your obligations while continuing to grow as a teaching professional.

A central dashboard gives you instant visibility into your progress, showing where your efforts are concentrated, where any gaps might lie, and how close you are to meeting annual or cyclical PL targets. In the background, the system provides a rich workspace for logging activities, developing Professional Learning Plans (PLPs), accessing curated resources, and making use of various supportive tools.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Under national and state legislation, all teachers in WA must maintain their registration through the TRBWA, which has clearly outlined expectations for Continuing Professional Learning (CPL).
The key requirement for full registration in WA is:

  • 100 hours of professional learning over a 5-year period, consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

This system provides a simple way to keep your CPL organised and accessible. Whether preparing for renewal or simply keeping on top of your growth, the platform allows you to document, export, and present your learning activities with ease.

The Teaching AU System Network

The Teaching Australia platform includes a suite of tailored PL systems for teachers in each Australian state and territory. Every version reflects local regulations and expectations, while still maintaining compatibility — so you can bring your history with you if you relocate.
